About

Dell M. Hamilton and Angela M. Counts are interdisciplinary artists who have developed an ongoing partnership across moving image, performance, and research-based installation. Building on earlier collaborations, they are expanding into multi-channel installation using archival research, performance, and video to reanimate overlooked Black histories.

Mark, Phillis, Phebe – A Murder Told In Three Parts is a proposed 3-channel video installation and public art project that aims to tell the stories of three enslaved African Americans: Mark, Phillis, and Phebe, who conspired and poisoned Captain John Codman, a prominent businessman, in 1755.
